Medical Writer

 

We are currently looking for a Medical Writer to fill a contract position in Montreal. The Medical Writer is required to write and develop medical and scientific content for a variety of training programs.

Job Description

  • Develops written scripts and translates scientific concepts into a clear document that will serve as the basis for training programs according to client specifications
  • Conducts background research from medical/scientific material to ensure content accuracy and legibility
  • Targets written content to a given audience, i.e., pharmaceutical sales representative
  • Suggests images and animations and develops storyboards
  • Reviews storyboards with and other project material to ensure quality control on content and context
  • Collaborates with graphic artists to produce the necessary visuals to complement the script
  • Works with all team members to produce a uniform project

Skills

  • Graduate degree in medical/life sciences field (e.g., bio-medical field)
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Knowledge or formal training in medical or scientific writing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multitask
  • Computer skills: Word, Outlook, Excel, FileMaker, Internet, ReferenceManager
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Assets

Medical Editor

 

We are currently looking for a Medical Editor to fill a permanent position in Montreal. The Medical Editor is responsible for the management and editing of the medical or scientific content in the development of a number of multimedia projects.

Job Description

  • Prepares the structural development of scripts including the content outline and educational design
  • Manages and prioritizes tasks to meet project deadlines
  • Works with the assigned writer(s) to develop the script according to client specifications
  • Trains, motivates, and provides appropriate feedback to writers to ensure that project standards are met
  • Ensures the overall quality and uniformity of writing and instructional design of all projects; ensures that established style guides are followed
  • Edits script and storyboard content for medical and scientific accuracy and relevance
  • Ensures that review procedures are followed • Ensures that all copy is properly copy edited and proofed
  • Collaborates with Project Managers to map out project specifications
  • Interacts with clients in regards to content of scripts and storyboards

Skills

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in medical or scientific editing
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; diplomacy
  • Knowledge of AMA style
  • Training in a bio-science discipline and knowledge of clinical terminology •
  • Computer skills: Word, Outlook, Internet, Excel
  • Outstanding English (both written and oral)

Web/Flash Integrator

 

We are currently looking for a Web/Flash Integrator to fill a permanent position in Montreal. The Integrator works within a production team (including graphic artists, project managers and Flash developers), to produce multimedia projects.

Job Description

  • Participates in the development of Flash-based applications
  • Programs and modifies application interfaces using multimedia components, forms and other types of objects
  • Assembles and integrates interface components using different applications
  • Choosing appropriate images, sounds, forms and page settings to conform to client requirements. Collaborates with programmers to ensure all audio-visual content corresponds to the project’s specifications and client’s requirements
  • Works with graphic artists on the overall “look” of the multimedia product to ensure consistency across all project modules (project uniformity) where applicable

Skills

  • College diploma (A.E.C.) in Multimedia, Computer Science or in a related discipline
  • Mastery of HTML
  • Advanced knowledge of Flash 4 to 9, ActionScript 2.0 / 3.0, XML, Javascript, DHTML
  • Previous experience as a Web or Flash Integrator
  • Very detail orientated
  • Team oriented, flexible
  • Autonomous
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

 

Junior Graphic Artist

 

We are currently looking for a Junior Graphic Artist to update our freelance positions in Montreal. The artist works within a production team (including other graphic artists, project managers and Flash developers), to produce multimedia projects.

Job Description

  • Adjust and import images (photos, and vector drawings), movies, and sounds into Flash
  • Animate text and images
  • Synchronize animations with sound tracks

Skills

  • College diploma (A.E.C.) in Multimedia or related discipline
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Knowledge of Flash, ActionScript 2.0 / 3.0, XML, Javascript, DHTML
