Document Layout Technician

The Role of the Document Layout Technician: The role is responsible for preparing digital project documents by collaborating with the Visual and Digital Innovation, Content and Project Management Departments.  The role produces the documents according to client specifications and established timelines using Storyline and other rapid authoring tools.

Responsibilities/daily tasks:

  • Produces digital modules using Storyline, PowerPoint and other rapid authoring tools
  • Creates and produces templates for digital modules in various media formats (example: Storyline, PowerPoint, Word, CPDF, Inkling, etc.)
  • Formats documents and reports
  • Prepares documents in the appropriate delivery format for the client project
  • Assists other departments to complete project requirements (integration, graphics, QA, etc.), as required

 

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Storyline (2 and 360), MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • DEC/AEC in Office Systems Technology: Micropublishing and Hypermedia or a related discipline or equivalent training
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in an office environment
  • Detail oriented with an eye for visual design, dedicated and flexible
  • Well organized, strong time management skills
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Quick learner and creative
  • Strong team player and self-motivated
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, and ability to deliver in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Languages: English (oral and written) and French (working knowledge)

Assets:

  • Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Knowledge of media production
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, and training sectors
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS
