Summary:
The Director of Sales is responsible for developing strong relationships with assigned clients, in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, and territories, driven by a well-constructed business plan. Each sale translates into a training project that requires the incumbent to actively participate with the project team to produce the customized and innovative training materials for the client. The position is home-based in the U.S. and requires traveling to client offices, and occasionally to the Headquarters, based in Montreal, Quebec (Canada).
Responsibilities/daily tasks:
- Contributes to sales strategies and operations planning for IC Axon
- Develops a business plan for the assigned territory and clients
- Directs sales activities, and helps develop new business for assigned clients
- Forges, builds, maintains, and manages relationships with key clients and organizations
- Develops and executes lead generation and follow-up strategies for each assigned account
- Conducts competitive intelligence activities to be knowledgeable about the customer’s and their competitors’ products, in order to drive the business
- Consults with client on requirements (listens and develops strategic solutions)
- Leads proposal development in collaboration with the instructional designers
- Identifies opportunities for IC Axon product line extensions, and contributes to the evolution of the IC Axon sales offering
- Participates in regular management meetings with the Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that all aspects of IC Axon business are aligned
- Travels, as required, for company business
- Advises the Vice President, Director of Operations and appropriate client services personnel, in a timely fashion, of any delays or other stumbling blocks that might materially impact key milestones, such as production schedules
- Communicates regularly with Project Teams
- Develops regular sales action plans to focus efforts towards achieving sales targets
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Communication, Commerce, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience with minimum of 1 year’s proven sales success record with a services provider
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices industry
- Innovative risk taker, and capable of taking initiative with little guidance
- Entrepreneurial spirit and autonomy to drive sales, while demonstrating dedicated teamwork to deliver the project
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong writing and presentation skills
- Languages: English written and spoken
- Computer skills: Word, Internet, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Technology savvy, and keeps up-to-date with current technologies
